The 2019 Event will be on Sunday 12th May
Cambridge Cancer Help Centre, based in The David Rayner Building at Scotsdales, will be the major beneficiary of the 2019 event which takes place on Sunday 12th May. Many people from this area have used the services over the years and some of the equipment and furniture urgently need replacing. We are delighted to be supporting this charity.
In addition, we are again supporting a number of activities which benefit the local community in one way or another. We make donations to a wide range of organisations in Sawston and the surrounding villages. Youth activities predominate, but as always we do also support a number of activities for those who are a bit older.
Other beneficiaries this year will be:-
Footprints Cafe - Commercial Food Blender
Icknield Primary School - Refurnish classrooms
Sawston Youth Drama - New lighting
Sawston Youth Group - Musical instruments for band
Granta School - D of E expedition equipment
Pippins Pre-school - Storage Shed + canopy for outdoor play
Sawston Cinema Club - Recording equipment
Sawston Guides - Replace obsolete camping equipment
Sawston Sports Centre - Pool Rescue Extraction Board
Whittlesford U.R.C. over-70s - Pilates and Yoga equipment
St Mary's Community Hall - Soup and Sandwiches - equipment
Whitsers - Toddlers play kitchen
Ladybird Playgroup - Sports equipment
Local Primary Schools - Dictionaries for pupils
The success of the Fun Run over the years is due to the many people in the community who have been prepared to help. If you feel able to support the 2019 event, please let us know by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone 01223 872243 If you wish to support one of the above beneficiaries in particular, then half of the sponsorship money that you raise will be specifically donated to them. If you do this as a member of a group, then a significant amount of extra money could be raised for your chosen charity.
